The Girls on the Run® of Atlanta volunteers make our wonderful program possible. If you would like to be involved with making a difference in the lives of metro Atlanta girls, we are recruiting coaches for the Fall 2010 program season.

Girls on the Run® of Atlanta (GOTR) welcomes back our returning sites and is excited to be working with a number of new sites! If you are interested in starting a new program in your school or community please attend one of our upcoming info meetings and complete a new site packet, available online .

FIRST COME, FIRST SERVE

Register Online starting August 23rd at 9am
Program fee: $160
- (includes race registration for designated GOTR end-of- season 5K)
- Financial aid is available, contact our office for more information, 678-992-2670
Due to insurance liability, programs at ALL School sites are closed to students who do not attend that school.
Registration closes the first week of the program
Refunds will be offered through the second week of the program
Programs close at a maximum of 15 participants. If programs do not reach a minimum of 8 participants prior to the first week you will be offered an alternate location or a refund.
Programs are 10-weeks long,offered in the fall and spring and meet twice a week for 90 minutes during the academic year.

Coach Trainings – Fall 2010 Season

Coach Training for all New coaches will be held in August. In order to sign-up for training please contact our Program Director to sign up for an upcoming info meeting.

New coaches need only attend one training session.
The training sessions are 6 hours long
Training for volunteer coaches is free with a year long committment (30 hours per season)
CPR/First Aid training is an additional 4 hour training (free to current coaches)
All programs meet twice a week for 10 weeks during the academic year.
- 2010 Fall Season: September 13th- November 21st (fall GOTR 5K is November 14th)
- 2011 Spring Season: February 28th- May 7th (spring 5K is April 30th)

- 8/14 training- GOTR Offices, 5696 Peachtree Parkway, Norcross, GA 30092
- 8/7 & 8/21 trainings – Junior League of Atlanta offices, 3154 Northside Parkway NW, Atlanta, GA 30327

Girls on the Run of Atlanta’s 10th Anniversary Celebration

Give 10 for Our 10^th: Celebrate a Decade of Running Strong: Girls on the Run of Atlanta commemorates 10 years by encouraging more people than ever to participate and support metro-Atlanta girls. The Atlanta council will celebrate its impact on the more than 6,000 girls who have participated for the last decade, including over 500 who are involved in the spring session this year.

Health and Wellness focused silent auction items, (long weekend for 4 in Steamboat resort, Braves tickets and signed baseball, and more)

New Balance Girls on the Run of Atlanta 5K: Sat., May 1^st. WestStride (Northside Pkwy and West Paces Ferry). After months of preparation, program participants and the public at large are invited to run in the program’s 5K. There is a registration fee of $25. Alumni Tent for past participants and coaches!

GOTR-ATL at the GA ING Weekend

GA ING Expo at the Georgia Dome – Friday, March 19th 11-7 & Saturday 20th 9-6, Stop by the Atlanta GOTR booth for your race day info and GOTR gear.
Publix Run Wild 5K and fun run at the Atlanta Zoo (zoo admission with race entry), Saturday March 20th
Run for Something better - Sunday, March 21st – Cheer on our Girls on Track (middle schoolers) as they finish their final 1.1 of a half-marathon with the the GA ING runners
Join us on race day, Sunday 21st – GOTR gear check-in and post race celebrations, look for the WestStride/Phidippides/GOTR tent in the charity tent area of Centennial Park
