GOTR of Atlanta is the proud recipient of the 2010 MLK Community Service Award through Emory University’s Rollins School of Public Health and Goizueta Business School.

The MLK Community Service Award is bestowed annually upon individuals, schools, educational programs, community organizations, agencies, and businesses that are able to see the many injustices and inequities that define the world we live in, and are willing to act to correct these imbalances.

GOTR Atlanta’s award will be presented at the 18th annual MLK, Jr. celebration on Thursday, Jan. 21, 2010, at 4 p.m. in the auditorium of Emory’s Goizueta Business School. The theme for this year’s program is “Weathering the Perfect Storm: Striving for Equity in an Economic Crisis,” and is dedicated to the 46 million children and adults who lack adequate healthcare in the United States. The keynote speaker will be Mrs. Christine King Ferris, the eldest and only living sibling of the late Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr.

Congratulations to GOTR Atlanta for its hard work and success at transforming the lives of many of Atlanta’s young girls!
